Free 30-day language courses
Four complete courses, free, with nothing to sign up for. Each is thirty lessons of 20–35 minutes, written specifically for English speakers — which means each one starts in a different place, because what an English speaker already knows, and what trips them up, is different in every language.
They are not translations of one another. The same author wrote all four to the same shape — a daily lesson, a review every seventh day, a five-minute speaking test on day 30 — but the teaching in each is built on the contrast between English and that specific language.
The courses
- 30 Days of FrenchYou already know several hundred words. The work is three sounds English does not have, and a stress habit that gets in the way of all of them.
- 30 Days of GermanCheap to start, expensive in the middle. You can read German aloud by the end of day 1; the cost arrives with three genders and four cases.
- 30 Days of KoreanTwo days for the alphabet, twenty-eight for the grammar. Hangul was designed to be learnable in a morning — the particles and the word order are the real course.
- 30 Days of ChineseNo conjugation, no tenses, no gender, no plurals. Everything you save on grammar is spent on tone, characters and measure words.
langNote is a paid subscription and these courses recommend it. All 120 lessons are free and complete either way.
